WISC-IV (Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children - 4th Edition) is a standardized intelligence test that comprehensively assesses the cognitive abilities of children ages 6-16.
The test evaluates on four main indexes: Verbal Comprehension, Perceptual Reasoning, Working Memory and Processing Speed. By combining these indices, a general cognitive ability (full scale IQ) score is obtained.
It is widely used for purposes such as identifying gifted children, evaluating learning disabilities, contributing to the ADHD diagnosis process and educational planning.
